City of Chesterfield
As the second largest city in west St. Louis County, Chesterfield is home to a population of 47,484 according to the 2010 census. Located just 25 miles from the state's capitol of St. Louis Missouri, Chesterfield provides access to the benefits of the city while maintaining a close knit community spirit. With historic communities dating back to the middle of the 19th century, the city offers enjoyment of both modern and historical qualities.
The city was incorporated 1988. Prior to incorporation, there were six towns within the city's 25 square miles, each with their own post offices. One by one, each post office closed until only Chesterfield's remained. Although the six communities are now included under one city, they each still hold unique qualities and the residents of Chesterfield are dedicated to preserving the historical value of their beloved home. The six original towns are still distinguishable as unique communities. These include the community of Bellefontaine, affectionately known to locals as Hilltown. Bellefontaine dates back to 1837. The town's first post office was established in 1851 and was given its name in 1869. The town of Lake dates back to 1850 when it was still known as Hog Hollow. The community of Gumbo, which earned its name from its rich muddy soil, was founded in 1882 and both Bonhomme and Monarch were founded around the same time. The original town of Chesterfield traces its roots back to 1817 when Colonel Justus Post arrived from Vermont and is thought to have acquired almost 22,000 acres in the area.
Today, Chesterfield has built a stable business and residential community on the foundations of its colorful history. Residents of Chesterfield have access to two top-rated public schools and various quality health-care providers. Chesterfield also offers an endless supply of fun through unlimited shopping, dining and recreational activities.

We are able to provide patients with routine checkups, drug and alcohol testing, school physicals and treating various types of injuries. Our full service acute care facility allows us to send patients home with the most common types of medications, and patients benefit from our diagnostic equipment and procedures including digital X-ray, nebulizer treatments, IV medications, laceration repair, abscess drainage, fracture reduction and ultrasound.
Appointments can be made (either online or by phone) but we welcome walk-ins as well. Our offices are open daily, with different hours for each facility (see the home page), and our goal is to see our patients within 45 minutes of when they walk in the door. We are also closely affiliated with a proactive Internal Medicine practice, known as Downtown Medical Internal Medicine, so if you don't have a primary care provider, we will help you get one.
At St. Louis Urgent Cares, we hand-pick all our staff, both providers and supporting staff, so you can rest assured that you are in good hands.
